What really gets me about this is that the products rising in price the fastest are the absolute bare minimums that someone on crappy money needs to keep buying in order to survive.

Mortgages (and rent), to have somewhere to live - no exact %age rise stated
Food, in order to stay alive - up 7 - 25%
Transport, in order to get to work - up 6%

There is no mention of household bills in there, so lets be nice and assume they are only rising at the "official" inflation rates of 2%

Lets also assume that "luxury" items like new clothes and shoes, or a TV are also only rising at 2%

So in other words, the well off may only have to cut back on a few luxuries because of all this, but those at the bottom end of the pay scale, those who have already cut back all non-essentials are basically completely screwed since companies out there use the official inflation figure to calculate pay rises (or at least the companies that actually bother with pay rises tend to do this)

If it gets much worse, I'm going on the dole. Maybe I'll visit the council, fall down the stairs and sue them, then claiming I'm unable to work for the rest of my life due to (another) back injury. It's certainly more cost effective.

Then you could become a member of blue badge club and would be allowed to park in the town centre again!

And on double yellows, and get a parking bay outside yourself and not have to pay for permits etc etc

I hate the way they always roll out "real cost" phrases whenever things are shown to be fucking expensive

Quote:
"The real cost of motoring is around 15 per cent lower than in 2000, and fuel duty rates are currently 15 per cent lower in real terms than they were in 1999."

No, you Labour moron. The REAL cost of motoring is bloody extortionate now, more so than in 2000 because fuel is more expensive, insurance is more expensive, road tax, servicing, parts etc etc - all more expensive. Do they think we are idiots? - don't answer that, I know they think we are all idiots
