Cold and damp but no precipitation here in Cumbria.
Lots of dozy prats driving around with fog lamps on though, dazzling oncoming drivers as the FOUR lights are reflected off the damp road surface!! :x

Yesterday drove down the M6 – A14 from Cheshire to Suffolk. It was heavy sleet most of the way and the motorways were awash until around Cambridge. Big accident on the A14 westbound, about 4 or five cars bumper to bumper.

I'd guess it was around 5.00pm and near Newmarket.

I am glad we decided to come home early because of the bad weather. Thankfully we missed the resulting jam by about an hour.

There was a fair old tailback (miles), so it looks like you made the right decision.

Just gotta be global warming again.

No snow in Dorset, but hail & thunder.

Maybe we'll get one or two days of snow here on the coast then. We normally don't get any, only the horrid coldness.

But remember, it is global warming and it is your fault. Don't forget to pay the government so they can sort it out and return British weather to its normal, predictable state.

wind and rain up here.

this 'warning' that winter has arrived, is it not time we actually taught the average numpty how to deal with the weather conditions rather than the old 'slow down'. cars still slide when they are going slow. skid pan training should be pre-test mandatory. teach them how to drive rather than telling them not to drive too fast. without the relevant training, how are they supposed to know what to do?

Snowed last night - got up to hand sized patches. Yep Scanny - also wish that the numpties were told that they can also go too slow on snow - hit a hill at 25 and you survive - at 10 you die(half way up) (Speed kills in reverse  )
