Look .. we are human.. We try to bend the rules.. live .. have fun..... take risks.. und risk mean we learn to learn to survive. Avoid this und we die. Inside in spirit as well as outside.

It why exercise und sport get shunned.. it not pee-cee to take a risk.. graze a knee .. live a life. und live beyond the three score und ten as allowed by God after all

Sorry.. I forget.. you not all read German :boxedin:

It nanny spoil sport abroad. I provide the link for folk to check it out if they can read German. I think most will work out what article saying really.

They talking of using a speed cam to ping your speed as you play on the slopes und these days .. with modern equipment.. we can achieve some real thrillies really. It sport too.. with the fastest gaining accolades.

I think it lead like Windermere to ruination of winter holiday fun in time.

Take lessons.. use the dry slopes here und there.. Have lessons when on hols too., Be prepared to learn.. live.. enjoy.. have greatest fun. It about common sense values.. responsibilty und judging own limits of skill und know-how, und being mature enough to know where one's limits und skill lie.

There were always difficulties skiing on Windermere - for a start it doesn't slope down hill, so you need a speedboat to tow you.
Now that the limit is 10 knots, you have to have a bigger ski, and slalom behind the boat, so that your forward speed on the ski, is faster than the forward speed of the boat. (It's only POWERED boats which are limited - others can go as fast as they like! :o )

Unfortunately that is not so safe, as the skier veers wildly from side to side, making passing more hazardous, and it uses more fuel (slightly).
The other main problem is that with less powered boats on the lake, the national Park have to provide more rescue cover, for yachtsmen and canoeists in difficulty, and are complaining about the cost!
SERVES THEM RIGHT! :)
In the meantime, the sport suffers!

If they use a big enough hair dryer the snow will disappear, speeds will naturally reduce (more friction, y'see) and the problem will be sol-ved; as our friend Jacques Clouseau would say.

Miserable blighters though! We need a 'get rid of Nanny' campaign.

Best wishes all,
Dave.
