I've just been asked the question at work. Can you be prosecuted for being drink on a bicycle?

But there isn't a fixed blood alcohol limit for pedal cyclists.

That you can have you driving license endorsed if caught is a myth though.

There is no offence in being drunk.

You have to be:

D & Disorderly,
D & in charge of a motor vehicle,
D & in charge of a child under 8 (i think)
D & in charge of a Horse
D & in charge of a bicycle.

Only in the Armed Forces is there an offence of being drunk, in that you have rendered yourself unfit for military service.

IIRC, the Police don't have any problems with being Drunk and amiable, or even better, drunk and being funny.

There also used to be an offence of Drunk and Incapable under the Metropolitan Police Act, so it applied to London only. Don't know whether it's still around.

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

My friend got threatened with it last summer, the officer said it was

"Drunk in charge of a pedal cycle and no lights"

It was a £30 on the spot fine reduced to £0 if he disappeared quickly!
