Darling: Tony our traffic calming, relentless roadworks and speed cameras hasn't really caused as much congestion as we'd like in order to justify road charging , what do you think we should do now?

Tony: 2 jabs has an idea, he has proposed that the South-East should be saturated with new homes hence an increase in traffic-couple that with the 50 year or so chronic underfunding in the roads network and hey-ho problem solved (or created by them!).

Next thing they will build estates with NO roads and houses with no drives. Public transport only.....Quick pinch myself to see if I was having a nightmare...

Yes, complete with the 20,000 shiny new buses required to service those million new homes.
Not forgetting the several hundred 'bus only' roads required to handle all those buses - between the housing estate and the city centre.

I think it is quite likely that planning permission will only be given to housing with no parking. They already insist we be crammed in like sardines.
