Last week me and my football team stayed in 2 apartments in Barcelona. We were required to put down £300 deposit per apartment.

The owners (some company) are refusing to pay back the deposit claiming 1) the apartments were in a mess and 2) the police had to be called by a neighbour due to noise one night.

1. They were not in a mess, but they dont do a walk around on check out, they ask you to leave the keys on the side and the maid will clean later

2. We had no contact from the police or with the police - even if they were called what proof is there that it was necessary, a neighbours word for it? Someone who could be in a massive scam anyway!!

Basically, I was wondering what aspect of EU law covers this? In England I imagine this would go to the small claims court, however them being in Spain makes it a pain in the bum. We need to word a letter which makes it sound like we're serious and could do with knowing what legal rights we have, anyone know?
