I have done more U-turns on this subject than a captive animal in a small zoo, and I have come to the conclusion that it isn't so much who/what to believe as who/what
not to believe.
I don't think there is such thing as an impartial media. (I wish there were)
Anyone remember the ad for The Independent where two typewriters representing two opposing viewpoints were writing on the same paper? (If only

)
So on local and national issues, I look around and see for myself what is
actually happening. examples: Our population is getting less, we are living longer, crime is down, there's meat in hamburgers...

Seriously, the BBC are, IMHO, at or near the top of the best! But they are by no means perfect. When I was living in America there are well-respected leaders in news, mentioning no names, whom I found quite shocking, as an Englishman. But who was right? Who do you beleive?
So when it comes to international news? The view you get of your country is
very different to what you may expect to hear abroad!
