What better proof of the parlous state of the "campaign" than the censorship of discussion.

Discussion? I thought you were just trying to be an arse.

You used to be a thoughtful contributor, it's a shame.

Plenty of thought going on at this end old chap.

The discussion was continuing; it had drifted away from the original post (thanks to a revival of the thread with premature celebrations for what is essentially an outpouring of political hot air) but it wasn't in favour of the party line. Other discussion topics are allowed to drift but are not locked; special treatment was accorded the one with the unpleasant truth for the "campaign".

This is a hitherto unused strategy in the standard safespeed 5 point plan for dissenters. Or rather, that should be the 6 stage plan now!

Discussion is always encouraged here. Flogging dead horses is the realm of the troll. Surely you are not a real troll, Handy? Are you?

It degenerated into one of the most juvenile threads I've read on here.

Lol, Handy, I'm not going to pull any punches here, but recently I've been wondering if you've received a massive head trauma. Are you okay old bean? You seem to have gone from a reasoned, sensible debater, to some puerile point-scorer, trying to jump on ambiguities or semantics to 'win', rather than logic and facts. Noone really gives two shits if the campaign is 'proved right' or not, so long as we get real road-safety improvements. Do yourself a service and buck up, eh.

Robin

Please try to follow one of Paul's core tenets - attack the argument, not the contributor.

I will decline from sinking to your level in my response. I will instead bask in the glow of my moral victory; anyone who is frightened to argue the points has lost the debate, and they know it.

Andy

Can we all spare a few moments to congratulate Handy on his moral victory and, if I could be so bold, maybe bask in some of your moral glow. Then could we get back to the campaign.

You're definately not the same Handy you were a few months back but at least you now have your victory so fair play to you.

Whereas you've only posted to attack arguments - any arguments - of late.

And your posts seem to have become more verbose than they used to be.

And starting threads to talk about locked threads: what does that make you?

Maybe it's time to call the doc for a brain scan.
