From my
local paperQuote:
TEENAGERS who were killed after a two car-smash in St Paul’s Cray were travelling in a stolen vehicle, police said today.
Jay Sonny-Barry was driving the stolen green Honda Civic when it collided with another car.
The 18-year-old, from St Paul’s Cray, was taken to Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, where he died early yesterday morning.
Backseat passenger Larry Hall suffered a cardiac arrest in the accident which happened in St Paul's Cray Road at around 12.15am yesterday (January 25).
Ambulance crews could not resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, an hour later.
Front seat passenger Grant Holland was also taken to the Royal London Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Police say the car was stolen from nearby Leesons Way at around 11pm on Saturday evening.
Passers-by pulled the three teenagers out of the burning Honda after the accident and also rescued the 61-year-old driver of the other car.
He was taken to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, suffering from a broken hip and elbow and cuts.
I drive past the spot a few times a week, yesterday when I passed I thought there had been a multi-car shunt, in fact it was people parking on both sides of the road to go and leave floral tributes. They were back again today at rush hour causing another hazard to traffic. They could at least take the wrapping off the flowers instead of leaving what will become a pile of plastic waste.
I do have sympathy for what the families and friends of the dead lads are going through, just very little for the lads themselves. Given some of the comments I doubt many of the friends have learnt anything from this incident. None of them seem to offer any sympathy for the man their friends injured by their idiocy.
