Interesting poll on PH with nearly six hundred responses so far. This is not a sample of the general public this is a forum frequented by keen drivers remember.

I am not sure if you need to be a member of PH to see the results, let me know if you have a problem and I will post a screen shot.

I heard that 2 million people a year get done for speeding alone, not sure if thats how many are nipped or how many get points etc but over 3 years (before the points are nulled) thats six million motorists or approx one in five with a speeding "nab". Then there's the other points "offences"....

Yes, I was chatting to guy last night who had just had a ticket for one of those hanging deodorisers....hanging from his rear view mirror.

If it restricts your vision -dertimentally in the opinion of the officer's professional opinion ... we can pull you up over it :pocpcorn:

Worth noting this site over MOT rejection on windscreens

http://www.ukmot.com/6-1.asp

It would depend on the size and number of the air fresheners a-dangling. I have heard of one lurid example whereby the driver had quite a cluster of used and replacements attached... which was why he allegedly got done for it.

We may of course - if just a simple matter - simply offer a vehicle rectification notice as removing the offending items is rather straightforward  but this would be down to the officer's professionally made opinion.

This site may a useful site for browsing

Oh .. and for my licence - - still as clean as the date first issued. I tend to keep things to COAST :hehe:

Words of Advice Yes
Vechicle Defect Rectification Notice if a slightly wrong attitude perhaps :clap1:
FPN If very very bad attitude and definately not to make up the number so some bix ticking boss can claim to have met his or her target. :x

As for my licence still as clean as the day I got it 35 years ago not that that would count for anything in the event of a minor indescretion.

Banned twice as a teenager (1970's) .. totting up. stupid bigheaded teenager.

Went back to Australia whilst still banned and took the whole thing again and still passed first time again @ Kalamunda (very strict).. P plates till Uk licence sent over.

3 points speeding a couple of times over past 22 years, last one always expired before next one. Clean licence for past 8 years...

Watch me go and get flashed/pulled now I've said that !!

My licence is filthy. And it is beginning to de laminate. How much does a replacement cost?

It's about 20 quid. Note that if your photo replacement is due, or nearly due, you may also have to include a new photograph of yourself. You could have done it online, but the site is down [at the moment]. Try later. DVLA will not pay your fine if you are "nicked" for driving licence offences while their site is down !
