I debated going over to see this - rare to see a stuck sub .... I wonder how much damage the rocks will have done ? I am sure someone's head will roll for that - certainly ended someone's career!

Not as rare as you might think... :(

I remember HMS Alliance running aground off the Isle of Wight - caused a right fuss and if I remember correctly cost the skipper his job.

Then there was HMS Trafalgar - £5 million in repairs!

Those ratings on the deck would have to manually wind the mooring bollards up out of the deck so the tug could put a line aboard.
They use a T shaped key which has the instructions engraved on the stem... in case they forget! :)

Nothing says how close to the narrows this happens, but at full rip - the tidal surge can be high - and nasty to someone not looking out for it .
