Anything to do with the latest government cutbacks? Did you jump or were you pushed after 30 years of service?

Hope whatever the personal issues were that you're in a better place now..

I've actually defected from SS and now sponsor Brake but Claire has allowed me to retain my status here.

i always planned to finish around 50, BTW support staff do not need to reach 30yrs service, the cutbacks probably forced me to go a year or so earlier but with a redundancy package on the table, the option arose sooner

So we’re about the same age, or I’m a bit older, and I’ve got years left to go. :grumpy: (We need an envious smilie).

Oh well, enjoy your retirement CO. You're a long time dead, as they say...

I thought April Fools Day was nearly over until I saw that - now I know there are some out there who still have a sense of humour!

Ah right ta :)

So more of a career change then CO..

I think you should invest in property with your payout. You'll get bugger all from it in a bank but a return of maybe 10% in rent or a nice lump sum of £20K pretax profit after legal expenses for a few weeks effort.

Been watching Homes Under The Hammer me :) (Lucy's really sexy)

I'm thinking of a career change myself before I go nuts but I haven't got the savings :(
