Today I witnessed rampant lawlessness on the streets of London.

Cars were been driven on the wrong side of the road, and through red lights.
I saw several with either no number plates or illegal ones, and a few weren't displaying tax disks.
Also, many cars were been driven without seat belts being worn by any of the occupants.

And not one of them was stopped, despite there being literally hundreds of police around.

What is this world coming to?

I think that you will find that nthey were all being driven within the letter of the law.

Hard to judge as I wasn't there, but if Police are patrolling for other problems and not car infringements then they are far less likely (unless really serious offending) to bother.
The license plate cloning I was told years ago is totally out of control in London especially.
If you cannot be traced then you care little about obeying the road signs or any motoring rules.
Perhaps too a few made mistakes by observing the wrong lights or some-such, as I am sure this last weekend will have seen many tourists.

Sad though. Cameras concentrate on the wrong road safety policies on all levels. :(

I wonder if there is any CCTV footage so we can identify the miscreants :scratchchin:

I cannot see any reason why the rules do not still apply. If vehicles are not meant to be there it simply makes it that they are not supposed to be there, not that the road is no longer a road.
