Perhaps it is a way motorists can vent their growing frustration shown towards them by 'so many', very wrong I completely agree.

Is the diversion well signposted? Are there clear road closed signs with dates on for the time of hassle? Are their polite signs 'Sorry for inconvenience'? It seems unusual to get this sort of reaction from the British public?

Reason for my previous post. From my experiences of seeing this firm in action, there's little chance of them winning the "Considerate Constructor of the year " award.
