The completion on the house sale has finally gone through today - more than three months after first agreeing a price. There wasn't any particular problem, I'm told that it just seems to take that long nowadays

Anyway, in a sense that draws a line under things...

I'm pleased for you Peter. Anyone who has had dealings with house buying or selling will know there's no frustration quite like it!

I've currently got a friend lodging with me because her brain went into meltdown the first attempt. So now she can relax at mine and if the worst comes to the worst it doesn't matter, apart from losing some money on searches etc. (No chain or faff).

You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

That's excellent news, I know how frustrating it can all be !
Sometimes the auction has advantages for an immediate sale, but it won't get the best price !

However you'd think with less properties selling solicitors would have more time to each sale and get it completed early but mine which was meant to be quick took much longer but eventually concluded. However months later a lose end was still untied and even after moving in another was then sorted out ! A mad system that seems awfully and totally un-necessarily complicated.
Delighted it is done and I feel for you with the 'line' - yes it does and it is a sad relief... but it can help you move on... a sad truth too.
