Just finished watching my local BBC news program, Points West, and was chuffed to see Paul Smith being interviewed on the M4 scamera partnership's claims that the accident rate on the stretch now plagued by scameras is down by some 60%...

How about making it national TV next time?

'Down' 60%?

I seem to remember, the amount of accidents increased for the month it was introduced. It got to the point that I had to stop using the M4 at peak times as the traffic 'bunched' slowed to a crawl at some points, even outside peak times.

I somehow feel my intelligence is being insulted.

The thing that makes me the most angry is that they call the bloody things 'SAFETY cameras'!!!

Having said that, they seem to be rather obsessed about scameras round wiltshire particularly. I don't know if you know the A420 that well, but its a single carriageway NSL and 50 limit, that's also a major truck route. Its difficult to get past a truck doing its limit of 40 on there, so what do they do? Install scameras that will measure the vehicle size and nick any HGV doing over 40!
