One of my suppliers of plastic laminates for engraving has just brought out a new material called Micromatt, available in a range of colours.
It's a two plex laminate designed with architectural use in mind, to eliminate glare in foyers and reception areas making lettering difficult to read when lit by spot lighter lamps.
You are supposed to fix a non-reflective vinyl letter to the front, but I tried engraving through the colour on the back, and filling it in with black enamel, and voilá - a perfect none reflecting, low dazzle number plate!
It works similarly to the none glare glass in picture frames, and is very thin - any thicker and the lettering would look blurred
If anyone wants a trial, just PM or email me for a "sample"
