I have had the answer in front of me for ages, but didn't look close enough! The Google toolbar includes a server side spell checker that will spell check any fields in a web page. It appears to work very well and certainly helps me sort out the minor typing errors that I appear to get because my mind is about two words ahead of my fingers.

It is also useful because it turns words that you have searched for in Google into links for quickly locating them in returned pages. To download it go to:
