Just renewed the road tax online.

Brilliant, saves all that queueing at P.O. during busy lunchtime and don't have to spend hours wondering where we put the documents last time.

Did it at 7.30pm one Sunday evening.

Disc duly turned up in the post couple of days later

Can everyone do this now? I know they trialled it for awhile, but has it gone national? I taxed mine last May and I'm pretty sure it wasn't an option then. How does it check MOT and insurance? Is it via the national database?

I believe that 'with your permission' they can check the databases.

No idea about the UK mainland, but DVLNI claim that over the phone they can deal with 90% of renewalls by consulting the databases. I can't help feeling that this is hopelessly optimistic.

All checks must be done via national database of some sort because it is all done on line. I didn't actually do it my wife did it so it must be pretty easy(sorry dear you know what I mean).

Road tax? car tax?

Go post those terms at C+ and watch them scramble to explain how they don't exist.

Vehicle Excise Duty to be exact.
Problem is that the duty does not excise the demons at Swansea for long
