I used to really like the rallies with 'burnzie' in them. Was one of the real characters from the late '90 early 2000's. Sadly missed, a true hero of motorsport with consumate driving abilities in his field.

I saw the news of Richard Burns' death on Sky News this morning. I still don't believe it. He was a great champion and he will be sadly missed

'Driving a rally car is a drive like no other in a car like no other.
We spend most of it at over 70mph, changing gear every two or three seconds. It's ferocious stuff. But you won't forget it for the rest of your life.'

The foreword from A Driving Ambition by Richard Burns

News 24 made a fitting tribute to him. I hope they repeat it.

A sad loss. He was a very talented driver and a joy to watch.

I am sure all here will join me in sending my condolences to his family.

Only 34 years old - brain tumour. Tragic.

I will always remember his 2001 world championship win and seeing him on track once.

RIP Richard.

  Will greatly miss an amazing champion. If only the bloody national press could have found the space to comemorate a true champion, taken in such a tragic way, amongst the untold crap about some ex footballer who pressed all his own self destuct buttons and was as far away from a tragic death as you can get. Some papers had barely a couple of paragraphs covering it. Lets hope the TV people get a fantastic programme together with all the highlights of his career. If gods now in the passenger seat i bet he's holding on for all his worth whilst uttering every swear word he can muster.
