I like their new website - the tagline should be:

"Produced entirely without thought to the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act"

I clicked on the Survey results and was surprised to see this:

Looks like the good people of Kent and Medway are experiencing a slow dawning realisation that Rachel Moon is a person selling worthless nostrums...

I think it is scary.

It is important to educate children about safety on our roads at an early age

If children are to do posters about road saftey it should not be telling drivers off.

They should be making posters about crossing the road safely. The green cross code- STOP LOOK AND LISTEN.

The reason for involving pupils in our calendar project is to give them the opportunity to express their thoughts on speeding traffic and road safety in a creative way.

Their thoughts, or someone else's?

What better way of getting to the parent - brainwash the kids - and we spent years decrying methods used in Societ Russia :P

Yes it's the good old emotional blackmail. Essex SCP gave a talk and one of the reasons they gave for slowing down was they had asked kids about cars rushing past on the road and the little dears (7-9 year olds) said they were scared, the audience went arrgh !!

I argued that where I've worked I've had guys in close proximity to a 747 landing and guys working trackside to 200 ton trains chomping past, using ESCP logic should we be baning 747's landing or trains running because a couple of workers were scared ??

I think I spoiled things for them  :D

Next time you're on a train - look out the window at the equipment / huts /etc built beside the track.Look at some of the atrwork - shame to call it graffiti, its that good - on bridges carrying road traffic over the line.
Most of this is done by little darlings - they cross and recross up to 4 lines with trains running at up to 125mph , and the others say they're scared of a car at 20-- nearer the truth the idea has been put in their head , would be a good idea to make them cautious near the road , except for the insiduous idea behind it.

Well, my calendar has arrived, and as usually they couldn't help but spin - either there are specialist artist primary schools in kent, or only about five schools were involved.

Another thing struck me: It came with a propaganda leaflet, noting that the most recent government statistics report showed 540 (or similar, writing from memory) less KSIs nationwide due to speed cameras.

Could be a useful point we can get out to those with limited maths knowledge (rttm and similar go over a lot of people's heads): That's less than one KSI prevented per speed camera: i.e. most cameras have acheived nothing :D

If there are about 6,000 cameras, then that's on average more than 90% of all cameras acvhieving nothing.

Yes, but at least they all slow people down.
Look, here's proof. (Can you feel the irony?)
