Hi,
On a Radio 4 philisophical broadcast. One chap said that the majority of scientific theories are proved false in the end. The surprising thing is ( given the history of scientific research ) How many scientists believe that current theories are the 'right ones'.

It matters not... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4761804.stm says that it's all our fault. :-(

They should really carry on in that vein. Pretty soon anyone with half a brain cell will start to realise that the're talking complete cobblers.

Saturday article by Jeremy Clarkson says it all - itv news report on global warming - ice is getting thinner in Greenland. HMM says Jeremy -no mention of fact that ice is getting thicker in iceland.

To my mind Global warming is another government weapon --which shouted loud enough and with enough important soundang names attached gets some credibility -almost like the emporers new clothes .
It got to do with fuel costs - "we must cut down on carbon dioxide emmissions" --cars produce that ,shout cars are bad for the planet loud enough and people will believe it- then we can up taxes on cars/fuel/roads with public backing, because we're saving the planet.

Burning aviation fuel creates CO2, heating government buildings by gas creates co2 - have they done anything to stop it ?? - no ,most unpopular - mr/mrs voter might just vote them out if they can't take the kids abroad next year. The civil servants might strike if their offices are cold.(and they vote tooo)

Global Warming - biggest lot of hot air out

It's not so much the validity of the Greenhouse effect theory that concerns me, it's the fact that the Government only mention it when it suits them.

When they want to put up fuel tax or implement road pricing, Global warming is the biggest threat to ever face humanity.

When it comes to building new, more efficient power plants, implementing new energy-saving road surfaces, improving the rail network or (heaven forbid) putting some pressure on the Americans to reduce THEIR emissions, suddenly Global warming isn't so much of an issue.

How stupid do they think we all are?
