This road must be one of the most heaverly speed cameraed roads in the country from Leek to the A500 at Eturia theres at leasted 18 cameras and the speed limit varies from Leek 30, 40, NSL, 40, 30, 40, 30 40 to Etruia A500 which is DC back to NSL.

I drive this road quite a lot and it is not one of the best but as usual the call for more speed restrictions is being voiced by local people I agree that something should be done but Ill bet the usual solution more cameras and lower limitswill be the answer.

I've driven this road often before and if I remember correctly the section referred to is the only NSL part for miles and isn't more than 2 miles or so long. While it may be a slightly twisty road, there are no sharp bends and none that I would describe as dangerous.
It will only be a matter of time before it is made 40mph with scameras and the accidents will continue because they'll put the scameras on the 2 straight sections....

It's probably dangerous because of the all the speed limit changes.... no one is actually looking at the road anymore  A lot of the deaths seem to be kids piled into cars in the wee small hours of the morning.

Yes the accident happened almost oppisit the only layby if leaving Endon towards Leek just where the 40 ends and the NSL starts its the only place if you get trapped behind a lorry or slower traffic that if road is clear and it is safe to overtake said lorry or slow traffic before a very sharp lefthander if heading towards leek, coming the other way you can not overtake as easley as the white line in the middle is unbroken for about 1/3 of the distance.
