The cowards way out and it is the proverbial gravy train for the pro-camera (meaning anti-car) weasels...blame the rise on road deaths not on the lack of trafpols, rise in drink/drug driving, car thefts, or meaningless accident records proving otherwise but all on SS and ABD? A couple of websites highlighting the genuine concern (of everbody) of the politically correct leftism dictating the anti-car policies through Westminster, especially with regard to road safety, are completely responsible for the rise in road deaths???

Now that IS A proper anology of speed cameras effect on reducing road deaths if ever I saw it.

See this copy from T2000 in italics, if you can be bothered!
It looks as though Paul Smith and his speedophile pals have succeeded in helping to make Britain`s roads more dangerous.

Road deaths are up by 2 per cent.

Today`s Guardian says: "The number of people killed on Britain`s roads rose by 2 per cent last year. Figures released by the Department for Transport showed there were 3508 road deaths last year."

Why respectable media outlets like The Times and the BBC give space to Smith`s irresponsible nonsense is beyond me, especially since the rise in RTA fatalities is surely in part due to the arrogance and recklessness of lobby groups like "Safespeed" and the Association of British Drivers.

I recommend anyone who sees Smith`s rubbish printed anywere to contact the organisation and question whether Smith has any road safety training and why he makes light of death threats made against the leader of Brake and claims that it is safe to drive at 150mph on a road near his house.

SPINDRIFT

(using other peoples quotes as well....'Speedophile') that means you you TWIT! :

This is ridiculous; their OWN strategy on road safety is killing people but they can some how justify blaming the only group of people that can actually see it. ! Ludicrous.

I sent them this:

"Please remove the libellous comments by "Spindrift" immediately.

Your message examination process should have recognised that the claims are inaccurate and unsupportable.

I have captured the page you are publishing and will send a copy to my lawyers."

Brilliant, so if road deaths fall, it's because of cameras; if road deaths rise, it's because of Paul Smith. How obvious! :?

Is it any more libellous than this...?

This is joke ideology supported by joke organisation.

They are not interested in motoring issues. They are not interested in safety They are not even interested in the environment. They are a collection of weak minded misfits and politically motivated individuals who look upon anything that makes motoring unpleasant or expensive as something to be promoted.

No...my comments were true......

Plus mine were not an verbal assault on an individual...
At least we have freedom to show both sides of the argument in this forum not the carefully formulated anti-car propaganda that is on the T2000 site....Utter garbage!

T2000 quote1 "the need to make motoring more expensive relative to the alternatives"

T2000 quote2 "Road widening simply sends a message to motorists to keep on driving."

...I rest my case :!:

They are now saying motorists contribute nothing to the social and environmental 'impact' of motoring because all motoring taxes are used to fund the NHS etc (Tony Blair also said this at fuel protests). so we should be stumping up even more

Funny that I thought fuel tax was used as an environmental tax due to our incessant pollution (due to stop-start engineered congestion, see Ken livingstone and most local Councils), noise (stop-start for speed humps), senseless killings (say no more! AHEM AHEM AHERAS KHHAMERAS!).

They say:

Road tax is an indirect tax so (32 MILLION of us) we are not actually paying anything to drive on the roads!!!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT :o :o :o
WHERE THE HELL DO YOU THINK I GOT THAT LITTLE DISC ON THE WINDSCREEN?

Andrew

P.S. Hi to any T2000ers who have read some of my own posts on your respectable, truthful and largely un-bias site :? :?
