Our Dick needs to get a grip on reality here. By the way of all our toys ... our Jags are the quietest "purrers" The Stag just murmurs in stealth - apart from the one I'm keeping for Wildy's cousin Siegli. He has a first edition. I have one of the last off he conveyor belt. Both prone to the Stag problem of engine
I hope it is a "proper" Stag engine! (They sound gorgeous) but I, as a mechanic, am fully aware of their foibles!
I very proud that both these beauties of Best of British in its prime have the original "blue print engines"

When I bought mine - was at Uni. Took out a whopping bank loan to buy it. My Dad was not impressed though

(Even though he had and still has a penchant for Jags but let my eldest brother take custody of his treasured E Type. He still wonders if it was his speed on the M1 which led to a 70 mph clamp down

He liked to test out that car. He took us with him. Odd but a bit of "speed in a good old fashioned E Type did not harm us" at all

)
I think it was my car which attracted my wife initially. Kindred spirits as she was also heavily in debt after buying a motor bike
Was quite a while after we married when we broke even and became "solvent" again

(Unfortunately our kids consume a fair amount of our ready cash these days

As for Jags!
U cannot beat the 70's/80's V12's
OOOhhh Yesss!
Yah! They purr arround town (I reckon my old V12 is the easiest car I have ever had to maintain at 30 MPH)
BUT! Driven hard!!!!
They were brutal! 60 in first! 100 in second (and then you get going!

My Dad prefers the Jags of the 60s/ 70s/80s. He calls the current crop

"young pretenders"
Even the current models are quite fesity. Will be a sad day for this country if the marque founders after being put on the market. Odd as there are some interesting cars coming up in R&D there by all accounts.
