ok 31 is a bit tight i should have said that say someone doing 34/ 36 would be stopped by the bobby and asked if they would agree to let the kids speak to them, some do some don't

Given that you cannot set foot inside a school without a CRB check - I would be a bit suspicious of the ones who agree to be spoken to by child ;) - especially if I were to give any credibility to Kendisgestion..

Still a stunt.... and one which they notified press to show how their "caring nature (NOT)". My sister is a teacher and my wife's cousin is also a teacher. Both women teach Green Cross, run cycling proficiency and an adult course in vehicle maintenance as part of the adult education programme. I understand they include COAST in these sessions as well

But have spoken with both of them out of interest and both confirm the prats mither them and they do not respond.

My current suspicion? Indoctrination of the kiddies. Someone at the school probably got all Helen Lovejoy and they ended up having the police visit for a week. The kids got to play coppers with the radar gun and regurgitate whatever they'd been told to anyone daft enough to break the 11th Commandment down there - though in fairness it isn't a road I'd choose to do more than 30 and I'd probably err on the low side. But if it's the sort of road I feel I'd need to keep my speed down on, it's also the sort of road where drivers could do without that sort of distraction. And where the hell they were pulling them over without creating a possible hazard for the next driver along I don't know, down a side road I hope.

True - daft lip service to safety and other issues. I looked at the younger kids school books earleir today and the eleven year old's "envorinment" topic is full of the lentilist garbage. We have the same garbage spewed out in their French, German and Spanish lessons at KS3 stages too. I am appalled at the really propagandist stuff on offer to these kids. Fortunately ours are given a much more balanced view at home - but I must admit I find it very amusing when the rogues solemnly tell me that their teacher advised them to eat more lentils and muesli and they told him they quite enjoyed a rare steak, chips and fried onions!  :rotfl:

I've had a glass of the old cynic juice, so I can't help feeling this part of the exercise is aimed more at getting the kids to grow up to love cameras. Mr Gatso Is Your Friend and so on (imagine a sarcastic smiley here please). Hopefully whatever they were taugh in the rest of the week was of more value. Green Cross Code, Highway Code rules for pedestrians, personal responsibility for their safety round roads etc.

I am of the same opinion. My kids have told me what goes on here - the talk focussed on speed of vehicles and when the rogues talked of the Green Cross Code - they weretold that speeding drivers were the cause of all casualties. Apparently... but this was the seven and five year old and they actually like  GOING TURBO!

Dear God, have the sandalistas taken over the schools to that extent? Eat more lentils? :yikes: They can't all stand upwind of each other! School cabbage was bad enough. "Mankind can fly to the moon... but they can't de-fart the lentil" - Billy Connolly.
