Burried deep in the middle of the leatherhead advertiser (I know very local) is an article for community speed watch recruits. At the bottom of the page is a request for those communities no longer running schemes to hand back their equipment.

It appears that they've spend all this money training up the do-gooders only to find that after a few afternoons they too can't see the point of the scheme. Now there are no more scams to hand out.

These schemes are often touted by the media, but I've long suspected that most wither on the vine after a while, once participants realise what a waste of time it is, and most of those they are "catching" are locals who are then mightily pissed off.

You often find these people are "professional" campaigners. When they have fed their obsession with interfering they lose interest and move onto the next "cause".

Any chance of a scan? We might get some PR out of it.
