(Paul... move to cycling if more appropriate}
He died.
(Bolton News .. page 5 - pool reporter probably)
He was per the piece aged 36 years. A devoted Papa of "five." He died on Sunday evening in Leigh. His crumpled bike close to the burnt out Fiesta which allegedly killed him.
Per the report.. he was found unconscious .. his life ebbing away on Sunday evening. He died at the scene in the arms of a passing motorist.
His wife told the Bolton press that her husband, Barry, had just started to get his life back after a previous attack (mugging by yob) in which he sustained a fractured skull - requiring surgery. This led to seizures and black outs which led to a lost motor bike licence.
This poor, but brave, young father had not been able to work full time .. but took up part time work at a scrap and recycling yard in a bid to get back his dignity and life. This young man loved motor bikes from his boyhood.
On the day he died .. Barry had ridden his bicycle to see a buddy buddy pal. (Probably what IG is to me personally and I hope me to him .. a good pal and mentor

)
He died before he got there.
Barry had three children of his own and two stepchildren (why I put " 5" above - by the way. It takes courage to take on step children in any case.. and the world is much poorer for losing this type of person in my opinion.
I gather 4 persons aged between 20 and 25 years are helping police with their enquiries already.
If anyone did witness the collision or is shielding the person who did this.. please contact the GMP police on 0161 856 7201.
Whilst we argue about the sanity of a speed camera.. this does not mean we endorse or support crass stupidity or illegality on our roads. We are really asking for a greater police presence so that the Barry persons of this world live to see their young marry and make them grandparents.
We want COAST, police presence and realistic speed limits which promote safety and compliance. No one condones the acts of these unlicenced, illiterate and basically uneducatable thugs in any case.
