Free Car Stickers For Drivers 19/06/2007

Surrey Safety Camera Partnership are offering free car stickers to motorists who want to encourage safe driving in Surrey.

The new car stickers, launched in June, have a mock number plate, 5L0 DWN and carry the slogan Be Safe In Surrey: SLOW DOWN!

Their aim is to make speeding motorists, who may be travelling too close to the car in front of them, to think twice about their speed.

So if they are out to stop tailgating then why doesn't the sign say keep your distance

How much of our money do they plan to waste on these stickers?

If everyone who read this requested one, how much funding is being drawn away from effective road safety policies by this nonsense? Probably none, because they buy cameras, and stickers, and then more cameras to fund more stickers! As soon as they made scameras self-funding, they effectively created a self-licking ice-cream, that will keep on doing what it does, merely to continue doing what it does!

How do you like that Steve Callaghan? You may take great exception to being accused of being a snake-oil merchant, but how do you feel about being labelled as an auto-exculpating confectionary?

You'd think that probability would dictate that even scamera pratnershits would have a good idea every now and then. It must take quite a lot of dedication for them to ensure that they never do.
