:?

So. Not only does speed kill, but congested traffic also!

Words fail me.

Yep, it takes special kind of stupid to come up with these things. "The traffic's all stuck doing 7mph, so the first thing to do is slow it to 20mph." I mean if it's dangerous, it must be high speed to blame, right?

Basically, whats happened is the government can't afford road planners until they implement the highly lucrative tax-as-you-travel-to-work-as-well-as-while-you're-there sceme. In their place they have hired a group of underachieving gap-year students, who are paid to throw one dart at a map of the country, and another at 'Bully's Prize Board' of road treatments. A third, slightly more literate, then writes a press release using no fewer that 3 of the most up-to-date buzz words such as: congestion, carbon footprint, speed kills, safety camera, pedestrian friendly, environmentally responsible, etc.

Why would the gov want road planners anyway ?
It would go against the government grain....to plan anything.
Breaking news: The "western relief road" has been given the go-ahead in Bedford. 70 years after being first suggested !
This is the third go-ahead in the history of the road/s to bypass Bedford.
It still leaves the link from the A6 to the A428 to be planned....that'll be by about 2077.......maybe.
