Quote:
Traffic speeds in central London have increased since the introduction of the congestion charge, a report has found.

Transport for London (TfL), which carried out the report, said despite the increase the number of deaths on the city's roads had dropped.

A spokesman said the increase in speed, since the charge was introduced in February 2003, was due to a fall in the number of cars on the road.

TfL found the number of private cars in the central area reduced by a third.

But the number of taxis, buses, coaches and motorbikes travelling in the congestion charging areas has increased.

The "speed kills" lobby won't be pleased

I noticed twat2k have a campaign against barnet (who are removing traffic 'calming' measures) based on this data.
