:gatso2:Here's an item from the Daily Express. Are motorists deliberately being picked on?

I think arbitrary "targets" undermine professional judgement.

I am tied to budgets. I would love to prescribe something which would help at least five of my patients.. but am having to "bend the system" to try to get around this post code lottery. I referred two who live on the border of NHS Trust ... to the other consultant over the post code boundary who can prescribe what they need  I am costing theNHS MORE than the cost of the stuff my remaining patients need ..by getting the same result by prescribing a cocktail of three different drugs.. and they may have the desired effect .. but take a bit longer to help remedy and COST MORE!

I am saying in a roundabout way that all publicly funded services are placed in a strait jacket of targets which certainly do NOT serve the public at all.

All a nonsense which beggars common sense.

I am perhaps a natural born rebel.. and my rebellious tendencies seem to save lives (per my stats .. which I also question as folk do die on me and I am not god-like in life saving ablities :popcorn:_But these targets are pure spin and deceit on the part of the one setting them.

Re: the Express article......
I quote, "Another (force) ordered its Officers to catch 5 speeding motorists a month. They were also told to arrest 24 people a year for motoring offences to meet their new: "Quotas" (they don;t like the word: "targets", y'know).....At least not in public..

This smacks to me of persectution for political ends..

It's a great pity that a similar drive and "quotas" was not put into place for: murderers, sex attackers, scrotes carrying knives, thugs of all descriptions, burglars, vandals, anti-social feral kids, thieves, violent drunks, car thieves, twoc'ers,...etc, etc, etc, ...... in fact all the things that make this Island a nightmare to live in! I DON'T go to bed at night worrying about that motorist doing 5mph over the limit or even the one that has a 1 pint too many!

What I DO worry about is the fact that I CAN'T get a policeman when I need one........They are apparently always: "Too busy"....

Doing WHAT!...........I ask?

Chasing that MOTORIST maybe?

..and isn't this a blatant admission that the police have been given a "financial" target to rake in more money for the treasury?

I think so............. :x
