Speed camera fines are a "postcode lottery".
http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/ ... 18811.htmlI found this comment very interesting.
It's not just speed that kills; It's wrongful use of speed and this includes driving too slowly - Doddlers who won't make reasonable progress and drive according to the conditions. They'll gladly do 45 in a 30 limit, but when they get to the National Speed Limits they still do their customary 45mph and clog up the roads, forcing competent drivers to take unnecessary risks.
What about the inattention and failure to read the road ahead, the tail-gaiting, the lack of observation at road-junctions, the failure to stop at STOP lines, the traffic-light jumpers, the totally illegally blacked-out windows on boy-racer cars which mean they can't see out of them, and the ones who can't see at all because they're driving with uncorrected vision. What about the smokers; there's more to this problem than 'speeding'.I can't possibly arue with that as I believe it forms the basis of the argument against speed cameras.
