Of course .. they were really "nice lads"

But .. they still stole the car.. and this time no one was chasing them.. . they just lost it in the red mist of their illegal drive.

I am saying that police .. when they pursue .. do not really "hound folk to their deaths" .. like hounds chased the fox. .. before outlawed   (Does not mean I condone fox hunting.. but I will admit the fox is not the "cute thing with the red bushy tail.. but rather a vicious anomaly to nature in that the vixen does not really care if her cubs survive or not.. and they do not kill to survive either... but more for the thrill of killing. We have lost a pet rabbit and some "pet" chickens to a fox this last weekend :(

.. OK .. so Wildy rescued some battery hens  as we use eggs like some mini-army here ) But whilst I dislike the fox .. I would like to dispose of it humanely all the same....

In the case of these misguided young kids who think they get their kicks out of nicking cars.. I would like to see them taught how to drive properly ... and educated properly .. during their spell in the "young offenders". Or.. after release .. maybe fostered out, as Wayne was to us, .. as they do need a firm caring parental guiding hand at the very least

Two dead in stolen car crash

TWO young men have died after a stolen vehicle they were in crashed into a garden crushing a caravan and a car.

Gareth Mc, a 20-year-old plasterer from the Larkhill Estate and his friend Richard L, 19, both died at the scene when the driver lost control of the Vauxhall Astra and veered off Alderdale Road in Cheadle Hulme.

Skid marks show where the car hit the kerb and the grass verge before smashing through the fence post and gate and hitting the caravan parked in the garden.

The smash happened at around 1am today at the junction of Alderdale and Ladybridge Roads in Cheadle Hulme.

Firefighters used cutting gear to free young men from the car which had turned on to its side.

The car ended up in Derek Cs garden.

Derek, 58, a works manager, said: "We woke up at 12.55 this morning to this almighty thundering noise. We thought it was someone breaking in, went downstairs and saw people outside. It was total carnage. The car had hit the kerb and ploughed into the fence, taking out a concrete fence post and hitting the caravan.

"I told the fire brigade there were two gas bottles in the caravan so they doused everything down with water. When they got into the car they turned round and said `they're both dead' and everything slowed down at that point. It's a terrible way to go."

Impact

Derek said that firefighters had to spend nearly an hour making the bottles safe before they could cut the pair free from the car. He added: "I was speaking to two lads who were crossing the road seconds before. They saw the car come screeching round the corner, hit one kerb and then another, lose control and then it must have blown a tyre as it hit our kerb and took off, clearing the shrubbery before hitting the caravan. It must have been some impact because there are parts of the car in the back garden, a brake disc I think."

"It punched the caravan into the shed, buckling the floor and the shed's hit the greenhouse. My wife's Fiesta's a write-off as well from the side impact. My son has slept in that caravan before when we've had guests in the spare room. I've mixed emotions this morning. It'll take a few days to get over. Obviously I feel for the two lads and their families."

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed the car had been stolen from outside a house on Radnormere Drive earlier last night.

"The investigation into the exact circumstances of this collision will continue but at this stage it is not believed that any other vehicle was involved. Nobody else was injured in the collision."

A firefighter said: "We made the vehicle safe and then extricated the males. We were guided by the paramedics as to how far we went."

Family and friends, many in tears, were visiting the scene this morning leaving flowers.

Adam N, 22, Gareth's uncle, said: "They were both caring lads, both top lads who look after their mates. Just good lads and it's a terrible shame what's happened and the way they've gone.

"It's got right through to everyone. . They say they won't be speeding any more. It was just a crazy moment. I was with him a few minutes before and he nipped out with one of his mates."

Caine M, another of Gareth's uncles, said: "Obviously we are not good this morning. This family are in a bad way and his mum is totally devastated. It's not sunk in yet, we only found out about 7am this morning."

I will comment that Gareth's uncles may have it a bit wrong though. Whilst I appreciate the rather untimely deaths of Gareth M and Richard L may have sobered up the pals not to "speed".. I would hope that it deters them from nicking cars.. driving illegally .. with no licenced right.. insurance ..

I would rather it encourages them to learn how to drive .. and thus enjoy driving .. skilfullly and properly. I know that our ex-Twoccer of a foster now prides himself on his IAM acquisition and his enhanced skills. Such achievements do matter to these kids.

This was posted on another forum, where the question was asked "Do you feel any sympathy towards these two?".

There was a link to another newspaper story, which had comments from friends and relatives added - leading to one poster suggesting death was rather a severe penalty for nicking a car.
A neighbour also reported that one of the dead men's friends or relatives had since been speeding up and down to road deliberately skiding in some bizarre tribute to the two drivers!!

My on view is this... surely it is not the act of theft which has brought about their deaths, but the manner in which they drove the stolen vehicle with no regard for other members of the public.

Surely the ultimate act in public protection! The other news story shows two people crossing just moments before the incident, and the potential use of the caravan while parked on the driveway.

Was it their first offence? I doubt it very much, and I can have no sympathy with the culprits for the manner in which they risked the lives of others for their own enjoyment! What is wrong with the simpler pursuits enjoyed by my contemporaries? Not 100% safe, but no danger to others at all!

In the light of the attitude of the family and friends publicised since, any sympathy I might have had for them has since evaporated also.

In my work, I come into contact with families who have lost family members, and have had to face the fact that their loved ones strayed from the path, and brought about their own demise, and they have accepted this with a degree of dignity - but not these families it seems, who choose to pass this off as some one off aberration on their behalf!

Ern.. I find it very difficult to muster sympathy or a feeling that the world lost young men of "merit" here/

They stole a car. They chose to drive it at speeds which they could not handle.

Now I will admit that our foster .. Wayne.. came to us with a rather worrying history. When he almost broke my jaw in a drunken rage .. and thrust Wildy against a wall when she tried to calm him down.. we were a bit worried. Wildy .. as we now ackknowledge in archived lore.. clawed a "troll" who may not have been a "troll".. and .. um.. it''s history and Martin seems to have forgiven us once we told him what was going on in private. It's not his fault he married a strong-minded woman. I also did so. We have a lot in common :yikes:

OK .. so we managed to rein in this foster .. as we have in the past .. Hard slog. Really really hard slog. I do recomend fostering though. We CHOSE to foster kids like Wayne..after all. But helping these children.. providing respite... in the case of the "child carer" and just a breather for the stressed out families .. I can only say you get a warm feeling or personal achievement and a feel-good factor here.

Would these kids have behaved differently with a firm guidance.. ..

Perhaps. There are tell-tale signs of the actual background in the press story and family quotes. The uncles are peers in age group. Hardly "mentors" then

A vicious circle and in their grief and defence of the deceased .. they fail to learn.

I thus think I may be right to post my blunter responses ..after all. Even if they are not "politically correct" and "might offend" the grieving families. I am mindful of "sophie and her brother" who objected to my post about Nathan who was .. PER THE INQUEST .. aggressive to a bowling alley tellier.. who called the police.. and the kids ran across a busy M60 . and Nathan was hit by a car as he illegally crossed a motorway.

I have to say that if any or ours or a foster did this .. I wouid be angry more than bereaved at them. I would even put on the gravestone that they died because they chose to be fools.

My kids know we would do this. It is a very stark message to them.

BECAUSE WE GIVE A DAMN >> LOVE THEM :censored: CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM

and want them to live... become grandparents.. themselves..
