A MAN died after a car careered off a motorway and crashed into a tree.
The passenger, believed to be aged in his 20s, suffered fatal injuries when the Ford Focus he was in left the anticlockwise carriageway of the M60 near junction five, where it meets the Princess Parkway in south Manchester, after it had been involved in a collision with a Mini Cooper.
Emergency crews managed to get him out of the wreckage of the car, which ended up on its roof.
He was taken to hospital but died later.
Two women in the car who were also hurt were being treated in hospital.
The driver suffered a suspected fractured shoulder and another passenger had a suspected fracture to her right leg.
The anticlockwise section of the M60 was closed while police cleared the wreckage and began an investigation.
It has now been re-opened.
Police arrested two women who had been in the Mini Cooper.
