But brake will not be happy until the figure drops to zero.

She needs to watch Torchwood....;-) What we need is no deaths at all, any death in unacceptable.

This report is from the First Quarter of this year (2011) here and clearly shows that in spite of a greatly reduced Gatso weapon the fatalities have little changed, thus proving what Safe Speed has stated all along. :)
The Daily Telegraph has report this story today (5.8.11) with comment from Safe Speed.

Much of this is to do with less traffic volume and also less dense traffic, both found during recessionary periods (verified from history too), plus that motorists do travel more defensively and also that they travel less far, less often and are therefore exposed to less danger.

I have warned that as we climb out of recession we will likely see the KSI numbers rise.
There has been greater numbers of pedestrian deaths, so as people are walking more and living closer to work and as they walk more this is potentially causing more exposure to danger when out and about.
We must encourage people to be more responsible and for better engineering methods to be deployed (in paved/road areas) to help where necessary.

I agree. I think we have noticed a pattern that in this recession and the prices of fuel, most people try to walk/cycle or get public transport instead of driving. Plus, drivers are more conscious of their driving, cause it will cost them money to get their vehicles fixed in case of an accident. Pedestrian deaths perhaps derive not only from the fact that more people are walking, but also because drivers are so conscious of not hitting another car that they overlook the pedestrians? (I mean most people walk in a crazy way anyway, I myself have made really un-clever rash decisions that I'm sure would've created some frustration in drivers, had there been any around  ).

Except where they claim £7,000+ for personal injury.

Car repaired and easy money...
