This is a fantastic development for the environment it is going to be used in!! I spend most of my summer hols in Italy (heading off in less than 2 weeks!!) and have driven there practically every year of my driving life, and I've tagged the individuals who insist on seeing every car in front of them as a challenge 'middle laners' - they literally force oncoming traffic to slow and traffic going in their direction to make gaps for them on roads and in conditions where overtaking is simply a preposterous idea.

Italy has a pretty liberal approach to driving (they actually raised the speed limits on three-lane motorway sections in certain uncongested areas!!), but this is something that really needed some attention.
