Quote:
Two years ago, the limit was raised from 30mph to 40mph on the opposite side of the road, after almost 1,500 drivers were caught speeding in just four hours.
According to Government guidelines, speed cameras should only be used at accident blackspots.
Official figures show that since 1996 there have been no fatal accidents on this stretch of road, with just seven slight injury collisions.
1500 in four hours!!
That's £90,000 , not bad eh! No wonder they keep coming back!
So the system seems to be; lower the speed limit - get the cameras out and make a mint - raise the speed limit. Bstads!
Surely all those fines should be re-paid when a roads speed limit has been incompetently reduced like this?
