Extra Red Light Cameras Set For Town
“Bolton Evening News” – David Crookes reports

The number of red light cameras deployed in the Bolton area is set to double. Six new cameras are proposed bringing the total to 11.

Red light cams in the town are currently situated at junctions of Bradford Street/Castle Street/The Haugh; Trinity Street/Manchester Road; Derby Street/College Way; De Havilland Way/Mansell Way (near Reeebok) and Chorley New RoadTudor Avenue and a Gatso is across the way as well here – but is outside a large independent top ten secondary school. (Yes - perhaps a correct spot for once as one child was killed there before their school bus service. I gather kids are bussed to Bolton from Warrington, Rochdale and Preston from pal whose son attends this school.

All of these are GREY and not yellow by the way (apart from Gatsos)
Drivesafe (Manchester scammerati are refusing   :? to inform locations of these red light cameras

(er – the whole point is to alert drivers to a danger spot? So they say but not actually do) :? :? :?

Claire Wightman (spokeswoman for Manchester scammers said an application had been made to the DfT for these red light cams Six per cent of drivers are caught by red light cams and the rest by normal scams – per Home Office figures. 85% of all traffic offences are copped  by camera and not by police.

Yup – shows by the accident rate and appalling driving standards and the chap who tailgated me on a 40 mph slip road on the approach to the roundabout, undertook me aggressively swung into my two second gap and then made everyone late by colliding with the large van., which formerly in front of me before he swerved into my gap  . And had the cheek to demand I treat his injuries on learning I was a medic. . Nope – I simply stemmed the blood whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive but was not prepared to do anything more than ensure he stayed alive and took some pleasure in describing his numpty driving to the police. Pity it was not a talivan though

Les Wardle of Bolton’s IAM wishes there were more …as “people are far too impatient at traffic lights”

All GMP speed traps including red lights are listed on www.drivesafe.org.uk and the new ones should also be listed there once operational.

I would bet that the location will be where Kay Street runs into St Peter’s way because of the recent 9 year old’s death by a hit and run (now caught) and Longcauseway/Albert Road as this is a very wide crossing and a 12 year old died when drunken idiot showed off in his sports car. However, the girl had attended a party at this local DJ’s house earlier in the evening – and one does raise eyebrows at this little factor.
