John Scheerhout reports in "tonight's Manchester Evening" - page 19

WOT!

No more PC Daniels et al on “Traffic Cops”?????

Quote:
The force’s six road-policing units have been disbanded and move to three new 999 hit squad, know as targeted patrol teams, which attend emergencies such as burglary, muggings,
Yeah – and given own experience, and similar experiences across this larger than average family - I’ll believe the moon is made of cream cheese, pigs flying, magic cure for lurgies first!

Quote:
The only remaining traffic officers have been used to form a new specialist investigation team – investigating serious injuries and deaths only.
So …. The drunks drugged, defectives illegals?
Ooh yes – forgot
PC Gatos leaps out and issues a fine 14 days later after they killed selves and others!

It is not what we want! We want police officers.

Quote:
The reorganisation means the police cars will have one officer instead of two.
Um – so officer alone is best able to deal with some violent thug? Somehow I do not think so

Quote:
It led to concern amongst officers and Supt Strachan: It’s absolutely typical of traffic officers and I do not mean it in a derogatory way - and the passion they have for the job. They really care and are concerned about the services they deliver .
Well that’s true enough – so why axe them? We need these guys around. Twas traffic cop who really saved Wildy

that day!

The Super confirmed to the MEN reporter that t traffic policing numbers in Cheshire have reduced and officers redeployed. No officer was made redundant – but is working in other fields of expertise. He insists that traffic policing has not been lowered in priority.
I want to know where these officers have been reassigned. I have a right to know as do all other tax payers who pay for this service which we do not get.

I - and everyone else in real world - want to know how Cheshire plans to cop drivers in defective throwaways, joy riders, drink/drugged/incapable not to mention rogue cyclists and bikers ...

All persons in this country have this right as voting "stakeholders"

(Golly - almost sound like a political wally here - oops!

)
I pay 40% of my hard earned dosh as does my wife and everyone else who goes out to work for selves and the "national wealth of the nation"

- ranging in 10%40%, NIC and a lot of indirect taxation Grrrrrrr! :Hissyfit:
Oh I see :bangehad:

– he really means “in the not very safe or practical hands of prats”
Quote:
He claimed 27 officers were deployed on Wilmslow Road, Alderley Edge – breath-testing drivers.
I am sure we all feel so reassured that the upper middle class Cheshire law abiders of Wilmslow, Cheadle and Alderley Edge felt all the safe for this one -off exericise on Nov 17 as they returned from whatever outings that evening.

.
Ah! Perhaps – trying to curry favour - as this is a repeat of the "Traffic Cops" thing where they stopped drivers marginally above a speed limit and found all sober – but missed the seasoned drinkers - who normally drive naffly - just under the enforced limit.
Cheshire claims it’s only copying Manchester who did this two years ago – when they succumbed to prat mentality and where, to be fair, Todd's on record as accepting scams are hindrance whihc alienate the public at large.
. Manchester’s enforcement appears form press to be fairly mediocre anyway – very sporadic from fairly reasonable to downright silly.
However, on a plus note for Manchester - officers helped my wife out when a diversion petered out. Wildy

reckons the three in a police van in a lay-by were more than helpful and gentlemanly to her when she got lost following a diversion a few weeks back.
Thus - you are hard pressed to beat a real
