See the attached article in today's birmingham post. Note that it is the Council that appears to have blocked the instalation rather than the police themselves.

The report also says the number of accidents on the A38 Tyburn Road had dropped since the bus lanes were scrapped

Two good things then--
1) a councillor blocking cameras (especially in birmingham)
2) Admitting that the bus lane caused accidents
