46M LAWS EVERY DAY
THE average motorist breaks the law 423 times a year.
Millions use mobile phones to make calls and send texts, put on make-up behind the wheel, skip red lights and drive under the influence of drink or drugs, said a poll yesterday.
Other dangerous habits include driving off with icy windscreens, failing to indicate or stop at stop signs and blocking junction boxes.
It all stacks up to 46million broken laws and Highway Code breaches every day, according to the survey.
Driving too fast was the main offence for commuters and, incredibly, some blamed speed cameras.
They claimed they had to take their eyes off their speedometers to spot them.

If anyone figures out the original source of this, I want to know.
I love the last bit: "
... some blamed speed cameras. They claimed they had to take their eyes off their speedometers to spot them." Clearly someone has a sense of humour - and of course:
many a true word...
