Some time ago - posted up story of Vectra crashing in the Horwich area of Bolton - near the site where the cycling club came to grief on black ice.
Last October 21 year old Mr Bhatti's Vectra careered off the road and hit a wall. The car had ploughed through railings and into a brick wall after going over a hump back bridge on Chorley New Road - close to a junction with Winter Hey Lane.
His 29 year old passenger was more seriously injured as his side took more of the impact - and both had to be cut free. Sadly 29 year old Mr Patel was Brought In Dead to Bolton's A&E (muliple injuries) and the driver sustained some serious neck injuries.
The driver has now been charged with "causing death by dangerous driving" .
Road as I understand is 30mph built up area and has a speed cam somewhere in vicinity of this crash - though not sure how far distant from the crash site.
Suspect he took the hump bridge at speed tehn - and lost it? ..Though if I recall from trips to Reebok with the kids and a little ride around Rivington as it's surprisingly nice scenery there
..It's not a steep hump bridge.. and a fairly wide road as well.
