So drivers will have to slow down to 40mph for, what, a mile or so? I don't have a problem with that, makes sense to slow down through a village anyway.

I agree it does make sense to slow down through villages, (I think that’s what we mean by safe speed) but in this case there are no recorded accidents on this rural road and it will surely lead to more roads in the area getting reduced limits. It’s the enforcement that will eventually follow I disagree with.

BTW if you haven’t sorted your insurance yet, try Motorcycle Direct on 0870 755 8250

It aint the limit thats the problem, its them revenue generating boxes on posts that are sure to follow to enforce it that are gonna be the problem. You then got people paying more attention to their speedos than whats going on around them.

Just make sure no camera is placed there for 3 years after the speed limit change. 3 years of KSI info required after the engineering change before a camera is allowed in the netting off me thinks!

It would be nice if they would abide by this, but I can't see it happening :(

I have noticed a few 20mph limits starting to creep in in some villages. Good Idea near schools for about 2 hours a day term time but 24/7.......no chance!

I usualy drive through in first gear (to prevent me form breaking the limit of course).....gets some black looks from the locals.... well you have got to get your fun where you can these days...
