next week beginning 19.01.09 A Labour Councillor is proposing average speed cameras for 20mph zones. Reducing a specific road from 40mph to 20mph too !

This is crying out for timely press releases surely!

Phases to consider:

Eyes fixated on speedo to ensure we mow the peds downat exactly 20mph

tailgating to avoid specs

drive people deeper into rat runs to avoid specs

Wrong message

Peds find it more difficult to cross road - more cars in zone at any one time with less distance between them..

Cyclists will find prgress more irksome - up cars' exhaust pipes.
