We have long questioned the many aspects of this failed policy that continues to persecute drivers even when they are driving safely.

The evidence is this case makes it all too clear that operators do not always abide by the legal requirement to form a prior opinion that a vehicle is speeding before targeting it
with the camera. It is likely that many drivers have been penalised illegally in this way, showing how unreliable and unjust this system is.

It is impressed upon us that operators are trained to ensure 'reliability and responsibility', but this clearly not the case.

A system which makes motorist 'sitting ducks' is unfair and unacceptable. It is no longer about road safety and high time it was scrapped, it teaches all the wrong road safety
messages and the public has lost all faith in it.

It is time to save lives not save face.

There is never a time to drive at an inappropriate speed, we can see the need to re-educate road users, and for the Government to implement a real world road safety policy
that actually works and has the respect of the people they serve through properly conducted, unbiased and intelligent research.

The police/public divide is too wide, we need policies that restore the respect and trust of the Police. Cameras are a 'cheap policeman' and it has totally failed.

This case continues to highlight the problem that if you have the time and resources to fight your case justice may prevail.

We need to remember that speed is a factor only in a small percentage of accidents and is not a root cause. *
