Last week (whilst coming into Dundee) I saw these HUGE montrosities of 'traffic blue' poles similar to Image, but as yet without the cameras. Looks like we're about to be 'big brothered' on this nice, safe stretch of road - the only viable link between the central east & west coast of scotland for the majority of the traffic.

Anybody know when they are set to go operational?

They are for forthcoming roadworks I believe. I'll try to find some more detail.

I can't believe this! :40: - FFS. Over a 5 mile stretch.

There has NEVER been a problem before when this road was being upgraded/worked on that a few temporary signs & a bunch of cones didn't fix. Scum.

Will this make it 'safe' through the roadworks - no, we'll all be sh*t scared that we average over 40 and be staring at our speedos not just for a few seconds as at a GATSO site - but for the whole f*ing 5 miles. By the way - anybody klnow what the margin is on SPECS? Still 10+2, or is that the number of points I can expect for averaging 41 as the evil speed merchant & dangerous driver that I am?

Just stick to the limit and you'll live forever :)

you will all be displeased to know that there are 2 sets of roadworks within a couple of miles of each other. they both have a set of SPECS at either end although rumour has it that there is a problem with this type of scamera. apparently, they cant catch you if you change lane between them. i cannot guarantee the accuracy of this but should anyone like to test it, please let us all know

Just tailgate a truck through the first camera in each section, then ignore the limit...

Now that Scotland has its owm speed limit powers and a 'taste' for mass-rollout of SPECS3.......it will get a LOT worse, and be permanent. Very sad :(

From what I heard today this is all still a proposal - not sure if it one of those rubber stamping exercises though ... have to dig into it all.
