I've just seen on TV a new THINK advert, advising to drive carefully in icy conditions. This is the first time that I have ever seen it.

Could this advert have been created as a consequence of the cyclists tragedy in Wales last week.?

It's more likely down to the time of year, and the expected cold snap which was forecast for this winter.

It would be nice to think they COULD respond that quickly and in that fashion though. :(

It's such a shame that the usual reaction to a problem is "dont do that" "dont do this" instead of providing useful information on how things SHOULD be done.

First real ice was in November so only 2 months late....An advert suggesting you drive like you have an egg on the dashboard and you don't want it to fall off is the only decent advice for icy weather.

I am amazed at the people I see walk like penguins because it is so slippery, get in the car and belt off at 30 mph just like it was dry. Those metal boxes definitely instill a sense of invulnerability.

I agree but there are also people who drive very slowly, but in a scared manner, in such conditions. There have been numerous studies showing that "unconfident drivers" have and cause more accidents...
