The school that I work at has banned flip-flops as footwear for all staff and students (although where else you could wear them beats me..!), after a series of accidents involving girls clobbering toes on aluminium stair-tread edges and losing toenails in the process.
I can't find anything specific in the good old HC, but they may well be considered dress or attire that may hamper proper control of the vehicle - I think it's down to the BiB's decision on the day.
Having said that, consider the level of sanity of the young lady I saw on the A12 yesterday, riding a Peugeot step-through in the glorious sunshine, doing about 55 mph wearing nothing but a crash helmet, a bright magenta bikini and flip-flops...

FFS!

My worst "Footwear Moment"

Why oh Why to footwear manufactureors always supply their products with massivle long laces?

I put up with this on my Trainers untill I had a *nasty* moment when the "Loop" in the laces got caught round the clutch pedal and momentarily hindererd my access to the brake!

Fortunatly this was during a parking manouver so no danger and no harm done. But I can imagine situations where the outcome may have been *much* more serious!

Bloody Hell! Left-foot braking during a parking maneuver? You must drive bloody quickly! :yikes:

Sorry!

Senile moment!

That would have been "Gas" pedel (or something) All i know is that, at the time, I was trying to move my (right) foot to the brake and all of a sudden I couldnt! and I had to yank back "really" hard to snap the laces. In the mean time, yes I did brake with my left

Fortunatly, I was on a bit of empty residential road traveling at about 1-2 Mph. It could have been a *lot* worse! :(

And when i trip over the long laces on my ultra protective maxi protective steel toe cap boots( with steel soles), can i claim compensation??
Next , we wil see another regime to limit the length of boot laces ( just in case the boot laces are a touch too long)
