a topic came up this afternoon that prompted my first ever call in to the station rather than txt in and where did the inspiration come from? right here :D

i pointed out that there is a difference between 'speeding' (defined as breaking the speed limit) and excessive speed for the conditions.
the examples i gave were the M9 at newbridge (50 limit, scameras present) where at 1am i could safely pass through at 60 or 70 but it would be speeding. or a country lane posted as a 60 limit but if i did that i wouldnt see the other end of it which makes it excessive speed for the conditions but its legal.
i was asked if i thought speed cameras are there to make money to which i replied, absolutely. you can tell by looking at their locations.

then i got elbowed out so they could agree with the points i brought up

Of course good people mentioning the Safe Speed campaign woud be entitled to an entry in SSitN&M itself.

Edited to add (silly me): Well done Scanny.
